A series of Lenten talks to aid us in our spiritual preparation for Easter.

THIRTY YEARS A HERMIT
Talk given by Rodney Thompson

Seeking God through a life of solitude, silence and prayer, Cork-born Rodney Thompson started his life as a hermit in the mid 1980s, living in a cottage by the sea in Roundstone, Connemara. In 2013 he moved to Clifden to be parish church sacristan. Rodney shares with us some insights and reflections from his life of prayer.

Neasa Flaherty Burke brings us on her own personal journey of how the words of liturgy have come to life for her through song, greatly enhancing our spiritual journey and bring us so much closer to God.
Neasa Flaherty Burke is a teacher, choir member and soloist who regularly assists with song at Mass in Galway Cathedral.

THE LIFE OF A PRIEST IN GALWAY IN 2020
Talk given by Fr Martin Whelan

The care of souls: some insights and reflections on nurturing the faith.
Fr Martin Whelan, a priest of the Galway diocese, is Diocesan Secretary and curate at Galway Cathedral. He is pursuing studies in canon law and is also a bee-keeper in his spare time.

ALL TALKS are in St Pio's Room, Sacred Heart Church, Seámus Quirke Road, Westside, Galway.
Talks are free and last from 45 minutes to an hour and are followed by questions, tea & coffee.
A voluntary collection will be taken up to help defray speakers’ expenses.
