Bishop Michael invites all to join him at a prayer service to mark Christian Unity Week 2024 for both the Diocese of Galway and the Diocese of Clonfert. The prayer service will be held in St Brendan's Cathedral, Loughrea, at 8.00pm on Sunday 21st January 2024.
Christian Unity Week runs from Thursday 18 January to Thursday 25 January.
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is an ecumenical Christian observance in the Christian calendar that is celebrated internationally. It is kept annually between 18 January and 25 January in the Northern Hemisphere. It is an octave, that is, an observance lasting eight days. The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is annually coordinated by the World Council of Churches.
