The faithful from the Dioceses of Galway, Kilmacduagh, Kilfenora, and Clonfert are warmly invited to join in the recitation of this prayer during all Masses over the nine days leading up to the visitation of the relics, commencing on 27th August. Throughout this period of preparation, everyone is encouraged to write their personal petitions at their local parish. Arrangements are to be coordinated at parish level for their transfer to either Galway Cathedral or Loughrea Cathedral before or during the visit of the relics. They will subsequently be transported to the shrine in Lourdes.
Dear Saint Bernadette, chosen by God to channel His graces and blessings, your faithful response to the Virgin Mary has gifted us with miraculous waters that heal both body and spirit. We earnestly seek your intercession, asking for healing from our spiritual and physical challenges.
Please carry our prayers to the Holy Mother, so that she may present them to her Son, Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, beseeching Him to look upon us with mercy and compassion. Inspire us, Saint Bernadette, to follow your example of compassion and resilience, keeping in mind the needs of others even through our own trials, particularly those who endure greater hardships.
As we anticipate God’s mercy, remind us to dedicate our suffering for the conversion of sinners and as reparation for the sins and wrongdoings of humanity.
Pray for us, Saint Bernadette, that we may remain faithful to God’s will, comforting the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary with our prayers and humility.
Holy Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, pray for us.
Amen.
O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee.
(Say three times.)
